The .750-inch bore diameter of this gas block matches the most common barrel outer diameter at the gas block seating area on standard AR-15 barrels — confirm your barrel’s outer diameter at the gas port before ordering, as barrels are also available in .625, .750, and .936 inch diameters depending on the barrel profile. Low profile gas blocks are designed to sit below the inner diameter of a free-float handguard, allowing a full-length free-float rail or handguard to extend over the gas block without obstruction. Unlike a standard front sight base gas block, a low profile gas block has no iron sight tower, making it compatible with most modern free-float handguard systems. Gas blocks are typically secured to the barrel by set screws that engage dimples drilled in the barrel, or by a clamp or taper pin arrangement depending on the design. Verify the barrel has the appropriate set screw dimples or that the gas block’s attachment method is compatible with your specific barrel before installation. The gas block must be positioned so the gas port in the block aligns precisely with the gas port in the barrel for reliable cycling of the action.
