The SOPMOD stock design has a long track record in military and law enforcement applications and is the basis for B5 Systems’ version. B5 Systems builds the SOPMOD to mil-spec tolerances using reinforced polymer construction that is significantly more rigid and impact-resistant than standard GI-style collapsible stocks. The design includes a rubber buttpad for recoil absorption and a consistent cheekweld position across all six length-of-pull settings. Built-in QD sling sockets on both sides allow ambidextrous sling attachment without a separate end plate or adapter. A battery compartment in the buttstock stores CR123 batteries or small tools for field use. The stock fits any mil-spec diameter six-position carbine buffer tube and adjusts through six positions without modification to the lower receiver. Mil-spec diameter tubes have a smaller outer diameter than commercial-spec tubes — confirm your buffer tube specification before ordering. For AR-15 owners who want a duty-grade stock with a proven military pedigree, built-in QD sling sockets, and reinforced construction that outlasts standard carbine stocks, the B5 Systems SOPMOD is the definitive upgrade for mil-spec AR-15 carbine builds.
