Built from 8620 steel with a Carpenter 158 steel bolt, it’s high-pressure tested (HPT) and magnetic particle inspected (MPI) for structural integrity. A complete bolt carrier group includes the bolt carrier, bolt, firing pin, firing pin retaining pin, cam pin, and extractor with spring and insert — everything needed to complete an AR-15 upper receiver. HPT fires a proof load to verify structural integrity, and MPI uses a magnetic field and iron particles to detect surface and subsurface cracks in the bolt. The M16 carrier profile is fully compatible with AR-15 lower receivers in semi-automatic fire.
