The Bushnell Trophy 3-9×40 is a variable magnification rifle scope designed for general hunting and target shooting applications across a wide range of distances and environments. The 3x to 9x magnification range covers close-range brush hunting at lower power settings and open-field shots at higher magnification, making it one of the most versatile power ranges available in a general-purpose rifle scope. The 40mm objective lens provides good light transmission across the magnification range, maintaining a usable sight picture in the low-light conditions common during dawn and dusk hunting hours. The Multi-X reticle is a traditional duplex-style crosshair with thicker outer posts that taper to a fine center crosshair — fast to use in the field and effective across the full power range. The matte finish reduces glare and reflection in bright outdoor conditions. The scope is waterproof, fog-proof, and shockproof for use in field environments. It uses a 1-inch main tube diameter, compatible with standard 1-inch scope rings and mounts. For hunters and shooters who want a reliable, general-purpose variable magnification scope without premium pricing, the Bushnell Trophy 3-9×40 is a well-proven option for deer hunting, varmint shooting, and general range use.
