A stripped upper receiver is the foundation of any AR-15 upper build. It houses the barrel extension, forward assist, ejection port cover, and charging handle, and connects to the lower receiver through the front and rear takedown pins. Anderson Manufacturing upper receivers are machined from 7075-T6 aluminum — the strongest common aluminum alloy used in AR-15 production — and hard-coat anodized to mil-spec Type III Class 2 specification. This anodizing process produces a hard, uniform surface that resists abrasion and corrosion under normal field conditions. All dimensional features are machined to mil-spec tolerances, ensuring compatibility with standard AR-15 barrels, handguards, charging handles, bolt carrier groups, and lower receivers from any manufacturer.
